Ana Pais

Borned in Ponte de Lima, Ana has a keen interest in visiting places with remarkable historical monuments and scenic landscapes that features a river or the sea. Graduated in Tourism, Ana worked in hospitality before joined PGW. For her, each travel is memorable and allows to live unique experiences while contacting with diferent cultures. During her free time, she likes music, watching movies and spending time with her friends.

Clotilde Rio

Clotilde is clearly keen on islands; her favourite holiday destinations so far have been São Miguel in the Azores and Malta. Like other team members, she loves experiencing different cultures and places. Before joining PGW in 2016, she worked on important rural tourism development projects such as the Portuguese Villages of Tradition, putting her MBA in Business Management and her earlier Marketing training to good use. Hailing from Porto, she also loves reading and the cinema.

Diogo Sá

Diogo is an active and socially capable young man, passionate about different cultures and customs, he likes to get out of his comfort zone and believes that the most important thing in life is to stay curious and never stop learning, always looking for more. Born in Viana do Castelo and raised locally, he graduated in Tourism before joining PGW. Florence was the trip that will always remain in his heart, and he guarantees you can never go back too often. In his free time, he plays basketball and listens to music

Inês Mateus

For Inês, travel is less about the place than the people she meets and shares her experiences with, and the opportunity to explore cultural similarities and differences. One of her most memorable holidays to date was in Madrid and the Alentejo region of Portugal has a firm place in her heart, quite likely due to the local gastronomy. She was born in Viana do Castelo and studied locally, taking her degree in Communications and Journalism and Post-graduate in Marketing and Strategy at the University of Minho. She joined the PGW team in March 2018 after working in social media management and content creation for a local newspaper.

Jyohanne Jobic

Born and raised in Paris, France, Jyohanne moved to the small town of Arcos de Valdevez in 2017 to get closer to her origins. She fell in love with Northern Portugal, and even if Islands and beaches are great places for her to relax, she feels much better near the Mountains. When traveling, she likes to immerse herself in the culture and history of the visited places. Always working with customer service, human relations are her priority. She spends a lot of time with her family and friends, but also likes to read, watch lots of movies and travel.

Marcos Gonçalves

For Marcos, travel is about being free. He has a degree in Tourism and after graduating he spent a month on a Danube River cruise. This experience allowed him to get to know Central Europe. In addition, before joining our team, Marcos worked in a pet-friendly hotel. His dream travel is a road trip in Japan. He likes to spend his free time listening to music and choosing the next music festival to go to.

Mariana Barroso

Mariana joined the team in 2023 and for her the best part of travelling is being able to immerse herself in the different cultures and cuisines each place has to offer. Some of her favourite places she has visited are Rome and London. Having grown up near the beach, there is where Mariana feels most at home so one of her favourite things to do in her spare time is to watch the sunset on the beach while listening to music.

Paola Abreu

Born in Barcelona, Venezuela, Paola initially joined us as an intern back in March 2018, while completing her degree in tourism, and is now a full-time member of the PGW team. An avid traveller, she adores meeting locals, visiting sites of historical and cultural interest and sampling the local gastronomy. Her favourite trips to date are the month she spent living in Casablanca, Morocco and a Mediterranean cruise. When she’s not working or travelling, she loves reading, drawing and painting.

Rute Barros

Rute is also from Viana do Castelo and came to PGW in the summer of 2019 after completing her degree in Business Management. Landscapes are an important part of travel for Rute, as well as experiencing different cultures. Her favourite holidays have been in Switzerland and the Portuguese island of Madeira. An active and sociable person, she spends her free time playing sports and participating in the local Scouts groups.

Teresa Pereira

Teresa was born and raised in a small village in Ponte de Lima. In 2022 she finished her degree in Tourism, Territory and Heritage at the University of Coimbra. One of her favorite subjects is sustainability and that is the reason why she loves nature-related trips. Her dream travel is to go to Iceland and walk on the black sand beaches. One of her favorite hobbies is photographing beautiful landscapes and unique moments.

Tiago Faria

Another island lover, one of Tiago’s favourite destinations is Madeira, although the other is the very different Dubai. He finds that ‘going local’ and experimenting with typical foods and drinks are the ideal way to learn about the heart of a culture when travelling. Born in Barcelos, Tiago trained in Tourist Activity Management before joining the PGW team in 2018. In his spare time, he plays hockey and enjoys music.

Frederico Marchand

Traveling is in his blood, having already traveled around the world, with Japan and New Orleans as his favorite places. However, it is on the Camino de Santiago that he feels at home, something he has done regularly – walking and cycling it – since 2008. Born and raised in Porto, he studied Law but, professionally, what he likes to do most is management, especially meeting people from all over the world. Being also a family man, he spends his free time with his young son, playing and watching football with him hoping that, in a near future, they can be able to walk together until Santiago de Compostela.

Adriana was born near by the Portuguese Coast, in the city of Viana do Castelo. From an early age, she had a vision for tourism and graduated in the sector in 2022. The biggest dream of Adriana is to visit every country in Europe and discover the different cultures. She also adores to learn about the history of all the places she passes through.

Lisete Fernandes

Lisete was born in Ponte de Lima and is graduated in Secretariat. Since the beginning of 2022 is part of the accounting department, being responsible for contact with suppliers. Lisete has the curiosity and dream to explore the world. She likes to meet new cultures and loves to discover the gastronomy of each place. Always ready for adventure, her taste for the work she does is remarkable. Loves music and watching shows. Going to the cinema and walking by the sea are at the top of the list of hobbies outside the workplace.

Carolina Costa

Carolina grew up in an environment where bicycles were her family’s passion and she has practiced this activity from an early age. She studied Sports and is currently responsible for maintaining PGW’s bicycles. She lives in Ponte de Lima and her dream trip is cycling around the beautiful landscapes of Switzerland.

Born in the united states in the city of Boston John came to Portugal at a young age he could of gone back but fell in love with Portugal a mountain biker and a motorcycle rider he's discovered almost all of the beautiful places that the country has to offer.

Paulo Lopes

Our founder, Paulo Lopes, comes from Coimbra and has a background in Systems Engineering, IT and Project Management. His real passion is for the outdoors, such as hiking in the mountains to connect with nature and holidaying in places of outstanding natural beauty. He loves to explore different cultures through food and treasures being surprised by seemingly insignificant encounters with local places and people. He captures these sights and experiences through photography, a long-time love that began with using his father’s camera at the age of 15.

José Augusto Azevedo

José Augusto is a huge fan of hiking and has followed the Portuguese Camino de Santiago trails more times than he can count and knows them like the back of his hand. He gets a kick out of discovering unknown corners and the local stories, flavours and traditions that bring places alive and make them so authentic and special. A Ponte de Lima native, he trained in agricultural science and local development and has been working in tourism since 2001. He’s been an indispensable part of PGW’s operations since 2013 and loves spending quality time with his two daughters when he’s not working.
